When/how did you find CrossFit?
My brother introduced me to it back in 2011. I did a workout with thrusters, toes to bar, box jumps and something else. I hated it. Two days later, I asked him what other workout I could do.
What made you want to be a Coach?
I really enjoy helping people with anything. It so happens that I like focusing on health & fitness. Since I went into teaching as an undergrad, teaching was a main focus of mine. It is hard to teach kids or adults about health if they don’t care too much about it. CrossFit has allowed me to put energy and time into people who really want to make a difference in their life.
What is your favorite part about coaching?
My favorite part about coaching is the little wins athletes accomplish every day. We all have bad and good days but if you show up, and stay positive, maybe you can get that unbroken set of pull-ups; click that RX button for the first time; sprint harder on the bike than you ever have; or rest less in-between movements in a workout. I always try to put things into perspective and help athletes find that 1% where they got better every day. That’s a win. Enjoy the journey.
What do you like to do outside of the gym?
I like to hangout with friends and family outside the gym. I like to relax on the weekends either at home in front of a movie or on my boat in the summer. Taking advantage of down time and rest days on the weekends is a must for me since every week is go Go GO.
Anything else you want us to know?
I love CrossFit Mt. Lebanon. This community can do anything inside and outside the gym! I am so happy and proud to be a part of it.
